Baseball Recap: Woodlan Snaps Six-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Woodlan won the last time they faced Southern Wells and things went their way on Thursday too. The Warriors were the clear victors by a 16-3 margin over the Raiders. With that victory, the Warriors brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Will Delagrange looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits.

On the hitting side, Woodlan got a massive performance out of Jordan Halsey, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs Halsey has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Caleb Linker, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Woodlan always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Southern Wells only posted an OBP of .381.

Woodlan's win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-13. As for Southern Wells, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Woodlan will welcome Central Noble at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Southern Wells, they will face off against Fort Wayne Bishop Luers at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
