Preview: Bridge City Cardinals vs. Silsbee Tigers

Bridge City has been on the road for three straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Silsbee Tigers at 6:00 p.m. Bridge City has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.

Bridge City scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Jasper 55-19 on the road. That looming 55-19 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Bridge City yet this season.

Meanwhile, Silsbee had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25 points), and they went ahead and made it nine on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Little Cypress-Mauriceville 76-30 on the road. Silsbee might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won six matchups by 22 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Monica Bottley, who scored 33 points along with five rebounds and three steals. That makes it 13 consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Silsbee's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jena Warden, who scored 20 points along with three steals.

Bridge City's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-3. As for Silsbee, they pushed their record up to 11-2 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Bridge City was dealt a bruising 65-35 defeat at the hands of Silsbee in their previous meeting back in January. Thankfully for Bridge City, Erica Williamson (who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
