Vanden extended their winning streak to ten on Wednesday, bumping their season record up to 14-4 in the process. They never let the Wood Wildcats get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory. That's two games straight that the Vikings have won by exactly six runs.

The result came thanks to Isabella Cueva's shutout, as she gave up just four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Niayli Calvo, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Amiya Clay, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

As for Wood, they moved to 13-6 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, their shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

On Wood's side, Madisyn Farnham spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and four unearned) runs on ten hits.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Vanden will face off against River City at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Vikings are facing the Raiders at the right time seeing as the Raiders are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Wood, they will square off against Sacramento at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will also cruise into their next contest with the timing on their side: the Dragons will have lost seven straight heading into Friday's matchup.
