Volleyball Recap: Cypress Bay's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

After flying high against Western on Wednesday, Cypress Bay came back down to earth. The Lightning took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pine Crest Panthers on Friday. The Lightning were not able to make up for their loss to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in August of 2021.

Despite the loss, Cypress Bay still got an impressive performance from Erin Huang, who had ten digs and two aces. Huang is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Leading Pine Crest to victory were Isabella Collado and Kaylee Foreman. Collado had 27 assists and seven digs, while Foreman had 12 digs and four assists.

The defeat snapped Cypress Bay's winning streak at five matches and leaves them with a 6-4 record. As for Pine Crest, the win got them back to even at 7-7.

Cypress Bay has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Jupiter on the 19th. As for Pine Crest, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Coral Springs Charter on the 19th.
