Baseball Recap: Perry Takes a Loss

Perry lost against Bath back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Commodores fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 3-2. The Commodores just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.

Hunter Scott spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Perry saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sylas Johnson, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Perry's loss dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Bath, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.

Perry will head out on the road to square off against Newton Local at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bath, they will face off against Memorial at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
