Basketball Recap: Madison Cubs vs. Seymour Owls
The Madison Cubs lost against the Seymour Owls back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Madison was the victim of a tough 53-30 defeat at the hands of the Owls. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Madison has scored all season.
Madison's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Quincy Reynolds, who scored 16 points. Reynolds hasn't dropped below 15 points for three straight games.
Madison struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Madison's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Seymour, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Madison will take on the Bulldogs at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Batesville presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Cubs in Indiana (the Bulldogs are ranked 78th, while the Cubs are ranked 265th). As for Seymour, they will stay at home for another game and welcome the Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on February 10th.
