Baseball Game Preview: Rosemount Irish vs. Waconia Wildcats

The Rosemount Irish will head out on the road to square off against the Waconia Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Rosemount was handed a six-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Lakeville North 8-7. The win continues a trend for the Irish in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won five in a row.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Waconia, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out Chaska 3-1. The victory was some much needed relief for the Wildcats as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Rosemount's win bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Waconia, their victory bumped their record up to 5-11.

Rosemount couldn't quite finish off Waconia in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 and fell 6-4. Can the Irish avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
