Basketball Game Preview: Cupertino Pioneers vs. Lynbrook Vikings

Cupertino is 9-1 against Lynbrook since February of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Cupertino Pioneers will challenge the Lynbrook Vikings at 7:45 p.m. Cupertino will be strutting in after a victory while Lynbrook will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Cupertino turned things around against MacDonald on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Condor by a score of 44-32.

Cupertino relied on the efforts of Houma Yoshimochi, who went 6 for 9 en route to 14 points, and Nathan Crawford, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 16 points. The dominant performance gave Yoshimochi a new career-high in points. Jason Shi was another key player, putting up nine points.

Meanwhile, Lynbrook came up short against Homestead on Wednesday and fell 56-46. That's two games in a row now that the Vikings have lost by exactly ten points.

Lynbrook's loss dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Cupertino, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-14.

Cupertino was able to grind out a solid victory over Lynbrook in their previous meeting back in January, winning 32-25. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cupertino since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
