Basketball Recap: Berlin Comes Up Short

Berlin has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 48-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Gilford Golden Eagles on Friday. That's two games in a row now that the Mountaineers have lost by exactly eight points.

Berlin's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Gilford, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Berlin will venture away from home to challenge Newfound Regional at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Berlin's defense has only allowed 26 points per game this season, so Newfound Regional's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Gilford, they will challenge Belmont at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
