Softball Recap: St. Dominic Crusaders vs. Warrenton Warriors
St. Dominic won the last time they faced Warrenton, and things went their way on Monday too. The St. Dominic Crusaders walked away with a 10-7 victory over the Warrenton Warriors.
Ann Alsop was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Alsop was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.
In other batting news, Allison Roth was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. The last time her OBP was this high was back in September of 2023. Another player making a difference was Madeline Ganey, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI.
The win got St. Dominic back to even at 1-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Dominic will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Notre Dame at 4:15 p.m. As for Warrenton, they are headed away from home for the first time to face off against St. Charles at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
