Football Recap: Simeon Takes a Loss

Simeon scored first but ultimately less than Kenwood in their matchup on Saturday. They fell 28-20 to the Broncos. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wolverines of the 35-14 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2024.

Loss or not, Simeon got some senior leadership from Anthony Croom Jr. and Raymond Liggins. Croom Jr. threw for 207 yards and a pair of TDs, while Liggins picked up 78 receiving yards and one touchdown.

It was another big night for Kenyonte Louis, who threw for 257 yards and two TDs while picking up 12.2 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 52 yards and one score for Kenwood. Drake Harris was another key player, picking up 138 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Simeon's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-3. As for Kenwood, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Simeon will square off against Amundsen at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Kenwood, they will challenge Taft at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Broncos are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
