Basketball Recap: Ponca City Takes a Loss

Ponca City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were dealt a 76-45 loss at the hands of the Carl Albert Titans. The Wildcats were probably out for revenge after losing 67-56 to them when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Ponca City's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Colten Stracener, who went 6 of 10 en route to 12 points. Another player making a difference was Tavionne Akers, who posted nine points and six rebounds.

Ponca City's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Carl Albert, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.

Ponca City will face off against Bixby at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Carl Albert, they will square off against MacArthur at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
