Softball Recap: Lake Forest Comes Up Short

Lake Forest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They came up short against the Zion-Benton Zee-Bees, falling 17-2. That's two games in a row now that the Scouts have lost by exactly 15 runs.

Lake Forest saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ranallo Arianna, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.

Lake Forest's loss dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Zion-Benton, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-7-1.

Lake Forest and Zion-Benton could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Scouts (ranked 485th) will meet Libertyville (ranked 94th) at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Zion-Benton will face off against Warren Township at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank disadvantage (225 vs. 69).
