Preview: Lennard Longhorns vs. Plant City Raiders

Lennard is 1-9 against Plant City since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Lennard Longhorns will be playing in front of their home fans against the Plant City Raiders at 8:00 p.m. Lennard knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five contests -- so hopefully Plant City likes a good challenge.

Even though Lennard has not done well against Newsome recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Lennard came out on top against Newsome by a score of 61-54.

Lennard found their leader in underclassman Arcadian Davis, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. Davis has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last eight times he's played. Nigel Roseboro was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five rebounds and two steals.

Meanwhile, Plant City entered their tilt with Steinbrenner with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Plant City put the hurt on Steinbrenner with a sharp 63-39 victory on Tuesday. Given Plant City's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 114th, while Steinbrenner is ranked 604th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lennard's victory bumped their record up to 7-11. As for Plant City, their win bumped their record up to 15-2.

Lennard took a serious blow against Plant City when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 64-32. Will Lennard have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get analysis of the match and other basketball content.
