Baseball Recap: Tucker County Mountain Lions vs. Moorefield Yellow Jackets
Tucker County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Moorefield Yellow Jackets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Yellow Jackets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 on April 2nd.
Blake Helmick made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those hits marked the first that he has got this season. Another player making a difference was Owen Helmick, who went 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
Tucker County's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Moorefield, they moved to 2-11 with that win, which also ended their seven-game losing streak.
Coming up, Tucker County will square off against East Hardy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Moorefield, they will take on Allegany at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Campers will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Yellow Jackets surely won't give up without a fight.
