Basketball Recap: Toll Gate Comes Up Short

Toll Gate was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 60-31 loss at the hands of the Johnston Panthers.

Despite the loss, Toll Gate still got an impressive performance from Mary McNulty, who posted 20 points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance gave McNulty a new career-high in points.

Johnston got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Alanna Colon out in front who put up 21 points. Johnston is undefeated when Colon posts 20 or more points, but 5-14 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Annabella Gesauldi, who had 14 points.

Toll Gate's loss dropped their record down to 1-20. As for Johnston, their victory bumped their record up to 8-14.

Toll Gate does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Johnston, they will venture away from home to square off against Mt. Hope at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
