Volleyball Recap: Research Triangle Comes Up Short

Research Triangle and Holmes squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Research Triangle had to settle for second. They lost 3-0 to the Aces.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-12, 25-11.

Jacee Oneal paced Research Triangle's offense, picking up nine kills. Oneal got some help from Mckenzie Furlow and her eight assists. Kat Liquorie controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Research Triangle's defeat dropped their record down to 20-5. As for Holmes, they pushed their record up to 23-3 with the win, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season.

Research Triangle does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Holmes, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Research Triangle Academy on the 23rd.
