Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Springer

Springer had won three straight games and Sammy Gardner did his part to make it four on Saturday. It was close, but the Springer Cardinals ultimately received the gift of a 48-45 win from a begrudging Cardinals squad thanks in part to Gardner, who posted 15 points along with seven boards and six steals. His afternoon made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Springer's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.7 points per game. As for Ryan, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-3.

Springer will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Wynnewood at 8:00 p.m. on January 14, 2025. Ryan also won't see the court for a while: their next match is against Geronimo at 7:45 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
