Basketball Recap: Phillips Wildcats vs. Dyett Eagles
Phillips and Dyett squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Phillips had to settle for second. They received a blow as they fell 62-43 to the Dyett Eagles. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.
Dyett's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Rickey Coleman led the charge by dropping a double-double with 15 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Coleman a new career-high in blocks (four). Aramis Brown Jr was another key player, shooting 45% from the field en route to 12 points and six boards.
Phillips' loss dropped their record down to 15-15. As for Dyett, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 22-7.
Phillips does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Dyett, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 54-50 victory against Butler on the 5th.
