Buckeye hasn't had much luck against Canyon View recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. For Canyon View's part, Carter Radwanski made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. What's more, Radwanski posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Canyon View let Ethan Santoyo and Rolando Valles run wild. Santoyo went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Valles went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Those four hits gave Valles a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ricardo Yuriar, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double.
Canyon View always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Buckeye only posted an OBP of .318.
The win (which was Canyon View's 14th in a row) raised their record to 25-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Buckeye, their loss dropped their record down to 4-16.
Buckeye's speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's game. The Hawks have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.3 stolen bases per game.
