Baseball Game Preview: Colonel Crawford Eagles vs. Upper Sandusky Rams

The Colonel Crawford Eagles will square off against the Upper Sandusky Rams at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Colonel Crawford fell victim to Mohawk and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 10-0 to the Warriors. The Eagles have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Upper Sandusky, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over Carey on Monday. The Rams not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 24, 2024.

The team relied heavily on Kasen Gottfried, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-4. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Heilman, who went 1-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Upper Sandusky's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Colonel Crawford, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Colonel Crawford might still be hurting after the 11-1 defeat they got from Upper Sandusky when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
