After a string of nine wins, Mohawk Area's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a blow against the Aliquippa Quips, falling 74-43. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Warriors of the 63-35 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2018.

Mohawk Area's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 11-3. As for Aliquippa, they pushed their record up to 9-3 with the victory, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season.

Mohawk Area and Aliquippa should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. Mohawk Area will challenge Riverside at 7:30 p.m. on Friday up 413 places (104 vs. 517). Similarly, Aliquippa (ranked 130th) will meet Beaver Falls (ranked 663rd) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
