Baseball Game Preview: Manheim Central Barons vs. Cedar Crest Falcons

The Manheim Central Barons will head out to square off against the Cedar Crest Falcons at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. Manheim Central is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Manheim Central fell victim to Conestoga Valley and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 10-0 to the Buckskins.

Manheim Central saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brody Groff, who went 2-for-3 with one double. That double marked the first that Groff hit this season.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Cedar Crest faced off against Cocalico on Wednesday. Cedar Crest skirted past Cocalico 8-6. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Falcons.

Isaac Kreider was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Custer, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Cedar Crest pushed their record up to 3-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Manheim Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
