Basketball Recap: Brewster Skates Past Carmel with Ease

There's no place like home for Brewster, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. Couldn't have asked for a better way to wrap up 2024 than the 62-27 stomp they got against the Carmel Rams. With the Bears ahead 40-14 at the half, the game was all but over already.

When it comes to explaining why Carmel lost on Monday, don't look at Kylie Murphy. Despite the final result, she posted 22 points in addition to five boards and four steals. That was a full 81.5% of Carmel's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points.

Brewster's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Carmel, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Coincidentally, Brewster and Carmel will both be playing Greeley the next time they take the court. Carmel will head out to face Greeley at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, while Brewster will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on January 7th.
