Basketball Game Preview: Chapelgate Christian Academy Yellowjackets vs. Sandy Spring Friends Wildebeests

The Chapelgate Christian Academy Yellowjackets will head out to take on the Sandy Spring Friends Wildebeests at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chapelgate Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Sandy Spring Friends likes a good challenge.

Last Tuesday, everything came up roses for Chapelgate Christian Academy against Greater Grace Christian Academy as the squad secured a 73-37 win. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-12.

Paul Ayivor and Derek Eaton were among the main playmakers for Chapelgate Christian Academy as the former shot 67% from the field to rack up 19 points in addition to five boards and five steals and the latter went 7-for-14 on his way to 18 points and five rebounds. Those 19 points gave Ayivor a new career-high. Jahsir Wesley was another key player, putting up six points and six boards.

Meanwhile, Sandy Spring Friends came up short against St. Mary's on Saturday and fell 68-60. The loss put an end to the Wildebeests' undefeated start to the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Sandy Spring Friends fell to 2-1. As for Chapelgate Christian Academy, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-1.

Chapelgate Christian Academy lost to Sandy Spring Friends on the road by a decisive 61-47 margin in their previous matchup back in February. Can the Yellowjackets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
