Basketball Recap: Raleigh Charter Phoenix vs. Wake Prep Academy Guardians
Raleigh Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 51-36 bruising from the Wake Prep Academy Guardians. While the Phoenix didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Guardians 17-13 in the first quarter.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wake Prep Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Olivia Langton, who posted 16 points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Journey Johnson, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 11 points and six blocks.
Raleigh Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Wake Prep Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Raleigh Charter will square off against NCSSM: Durham at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Wake Prep Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Falls Lake at 6:00 p.m.
