Baseball Recap: New Paltz Triumphs

New Paltz's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Our Lady of Lourdes Warriors a 5-0 shutout. This was a revenge game for the Huguenots: when they faced off against the Warriors back in April, they had to take a 8-6 loss.

Jack Maiale made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Doug Borrello, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.

New Paltz's victory bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Our Lady of Lourdes, they moved to 9-9 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

As of now, neither New Paltz nor the Warriors have any future games scheduled.
