Baseball Game Preview: Meeker Cowboys vs. Grand Valley Cardinals

Meeker is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Grand Valley a six-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. The Meeker Cowboys will be playing in front of their home fans against the Grand Valley Cardinals at 2:00 p.m.

On Saturday, Meeker came up short against Cedaredge and fell 6-3.

Meanwhile, while Grand Valley put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Moffat County. The Cardinals were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Bulldogs. The win continues a trend for the Cardinals in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won three in a row.

Tyden Richardson was incredible, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 3-for-3. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Palcer, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Richardson wasn't the only one making solid contact: Grand Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in four consecutive matchups.

Grand Valley's victory bumped their record up to 2-9. As for Meeker, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Meeker took their win against Grand Valley in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 13-2 score. Do the Cowboys have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cardinals turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
