Preview: Choctawhatchee Indians vs. West Florida Jaguars

Choctawhatchee is 7-0 against West Florida since November of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Choctawhatchee Indians will be playing at home against the West Florida Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Choctawhatchee unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 53-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fort Walton Beach.

Meanwhile, West Florida's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Rutherford at home and fell 65-28. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points West Florida has scored all season.

Despite the defeat, West Florida had strong showings from Amani (AB) Bartholomew, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and two steals, and Jakya Brewton, who scored nine points. Bartholomew hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for seven straight games.

Choctawhatchee's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-4. As for West Florida, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.

Choctawhatchee didn't have too much breathing room in their game against West Florida in their previous matchup back in January of 2022, but they still walked away with a 39-35 win. Will Choctawhatchee repeat their success, or does West Florida have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
