Baseball Game Preview: Eastern Musketeers vs. South Central Rebels

The Eastern Musketeers will challenge the South Central Rebels at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Monday just wasn't the day for Eastern's offense. They came up short against Charlestown on Monday, falling 10-0. The loss continues a trend for the Musketeers in their meetings with the Pirates: they've now lost four in a row.

Eastern saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alton Swartz, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for South Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They walked away with a 10-5 win over Lanesville on Tuesday. The Rebels' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Eastern's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for South Central, their victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-4.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Eastern has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like South Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Eastern might still be hurting after the 19-9 loss they got from South Central in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can the Musketeers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
