Basketball Recap: Fort White Comes Up Short

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Fort White couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Hilliard Red Flashes by a score of 67-64 on Tuesday. The Indians have struggled against the Red Flashes recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Alyssa Hallman continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Hilliard, dropping a double-double with 26 points and 24 rebounds. Hallman is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last seven games she's played. Molly Dean was another key player, putting up 14 points along with seven boards and three steals.

Fort White's loss dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Hilliard, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season.

Fort White does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hilliard, they will face off against Holmes County at 5:00 p.m. on February 26th. Holmes County will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something Hilliard surely won't give up without a fight.
