Preview: Tuloso-Midway Warriors vs. Alice Coyotes
Tuloso-Midway has been on the road for five straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Alice Coyotes at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Tuesday, Tuloso-Midway was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 61-60 to West Oso.
Meanwhile, Alice scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 79-60 win over Aransas Pass.
Alice's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Calvin Villanueva led the charge by scoring 16 points along with nine assists and five rebounds. Villanueva hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Devon Barrera was another key contributor, scoring 20 points.
Tuloso-Midway has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Alice, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5.
Tuloso-Midway came out on top in a nail-biter against Alice when the teams last played back in January, sneaking past 64-62. Does Tuloso-Midway have another victory up their sleeve, or will Alice turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
