Ukiah waltzed into their contest on Thursday with five straight wins... but they left with six. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Santa Rosa Panthers a 10-0 shutout. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Taylor Allen made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Macie Winzler, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI and one run. Scout Adams was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two RBI.

Ukiah was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .387 or higher in six consecutive games.

Ukiah's record is now 8-5. As for Santa Rosa, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Coming up, Ukiah will challenge Rancho Cotate at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season. As for Santa Rosa, they will square off against Montgomery at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.93 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
