Basketball Game Preview: Concord Minutemen vs. Bethany Christian Bruins

The Concord Minutemen will challenge the Bethany Christian Bruins at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Concord is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Plymouth just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 41-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pilgrims/Rockies.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Shiloh Smith, who posted eight points. Shelby Emerick was another key player, putting up eight points.

Meanwhile, Bethany Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss. They took a blow against Bremen, falling 67-22. The Bruins were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-16.

Concord's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Bethany Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-15.

Concord beat Bethany Christian 55-42 when the teams last played back in January of 2024. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Bethany Christian's Zoe Willems, who dropped a double-double on 31 points and 14 rebounds.
