Baseball Game Preview: Ontario Christian Knights vs. Arrowhead Christian Eagles

The Ontario Christian Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Arrowhead Christian Eagles at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Ontario Christian is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 11 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Rancho Cucamonga on Thursday. They came up short against the Cougars, falling 8-0. The Knights haven't had much luck with the Cougars recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Meanwhile, after only one run in their last game, Arrowhead Christian made sure to put some runs up on the board against Beaumont on Saturday. Arrowhead Christian blew past Beaumont 11-3. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Eagles' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Ethan Estrada made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (two).

In other batting news, Daniel Rivera was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February. Tyler Young was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Arrowhead Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Beaumont only posted an OBP of .222.

The win made it two in a row for Arrowhead Christian and bumps their season record up to 7-7. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Ontario Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-9.
