Benson took a 35-point loss the last time they faced off against Santa Cruz Valley, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bobcats had just enough and edged out the Dust Devils 28-26. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bobcats have posted since September 20, 2024.

Dawson Judd produced another solid performance throwing for 212 yards and three TDs, while also rushing for 109 yards and one score on only ten carries. His passing game has become a key predictor of Benson's success: the team is 3-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise.
