Jordan hadn't done well against Cinco Ranch recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Warriors put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 9-3 victory. Considering the Warriors have won nine games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on JD Ortigoza, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cole Keppler, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

The win (which was Jordan's fifth in a row) raised their record to 13-7-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Cinco Ranch, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-11-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Jordan beat the Cougars by a score of 6-0 on Tuesday.
