Softball Recap: Safford Comes Up Short

After flying high against Thatcher last Monday, Safford came back down to earth. The Bulldogs lost 15-7 to the Show Low Cougars on Wednesday. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cougars earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

Marina Balisteri made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Keya Arbizo, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Safford's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Show Low, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-5.

Safford didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 6-0 defeat against Empire on the 10th. As for Show Low, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 12-0 win against Holbrook on the 11th.
