Recap: Oak Park Christian vs. Escambia Academy Cougars
Oak Park Christian were the 37-35 winner over the Escambia Academy Cougars when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The contest between the pair wasn't particularly close, with Oak Park Christian falling 54-38. They have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Quinton Odom continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Escambia Academy, scoring 28 points. The game was Odom's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlie Sasser, who scored six points.
Oak Park Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Escambia Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.
Oak Park Christian won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Varsity Opponent at 4:30 p.m. on January 6th. Varsity Opponent is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Escambia Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Snook Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Snook Christian Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 401st, while Escambia Academy is ranked 162nd).
