Football Recap: Durfee Hilltoppers vs. Plymouth South Panthers

There's no place like home for Durfee, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They slipped by the Plymouth South Panthers 29-28 on Saturday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Hilltoppers as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Matt Sherry threw for 221 yards and two touchdowns while completing 76.5% of his passes, and also punched in a rushing score. Ben Sherry was his top target, picking up 137 receiving yards and a touchdown. On the ground, Jason Springer rushed for 82 yards.

Plymouth South lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jack Horvath, who rushed for 62 yards and two touchdowns. Horvath is becoming a predictor of Plymouth South's success: when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns the team is 2-1 (and 3-4 when he doesn't).
