Basketball Recap: Munroe's Winning Streak Snapped at Six Games

Munroe blew Community Leadership Academy out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Monday Community Leadership Academy got their revenge. The Munroe Bobcats fell just short of the Community Leadership Academy Lions by a score of 60-58. The Bobcats' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, Munroe still got an impressive performance from Zelden Chukes, who went 10 for 14 on his way to 20 points, to go along with seven boards and three blocks. Those three blocks gave Chukes a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Wright, who posted six points.

Munroe's defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 6-1. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 2.5 points. As for Community Leadership Academy, they moved to 2-7 with that victory, which also ended their seven-game losing streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Munroe Bobcats take on the Blountstown Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Munroe is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 66 points per game this season. As for Community Leadership Academy, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Munroe at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
