Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Winter Springs

Winter Springs waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Seminole Seminoles as they made off with a 13-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won 11 matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Lilly Clark and Abigail Hooper did most of the damage at the plate: Clark went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double, while Hooper went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave Hooper a new career-high. Summer Mason was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.

Winter Springs' record now sits at 15-7. As for Seminole, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Winter Springs will welcome East Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Bears' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Seminole, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lake Mary at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
