Baseball Game Preview: San Gorgonio Spartans vs. Eisenhower Eagles

For the second straight game, San Gorgonio will face off against Eisenhower. The Spartans will host the Eagles at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. San Gorgonio is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

On Wednesday, San Gorgonio didn't have quite enough to beat Eisenhower and fell 4-3.

For Eisenhower's part, Mariano Nicasio was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Nicasio was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one triple. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other pitching news, Denzel Sahagun looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has become a key player for Eisenhower: the team is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-7 otherwise.

Back at the plate, Derek Mendoza was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one double. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in February of 2024.

Eisenhower's win bumped their record up to 7-8. As for San Gorgonio, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-10.
