Football Game Preview: Brookstone Cougars vs. Westfield School Hornets

Two dominant signal callers in Broughton Branch and Brock Johnson are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Brookstone Cougars will head out on the road to challenge the Westfield School Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Brookstone beat St. Anne-Pacelli 19-14. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.

Brookstone's defense made their presence known, laying out Cayden Snead four times. Charlie Peak refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself. Savon Kelly was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making six total tackles (2.0 for loss) in addition to snagging an interception.

Meanwhile, Westfield School won a contest that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Calvary Christian 24-23.

Brookstone better keep an eye on Jackson Hair. He was instrumental in Westfield School's win, rushing for 124 yards and one TD while picking up 7.3 yards per carry.

Brookstone's record is now 7-1. As for Westfield School, their record now sits at 6-2.

Brookstone couldn't quite get it done against Westfield School in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 as they fell 17-10. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
