Volleyball Game Preview: Roncalli Royals vs. New Palestine Dragons

The Roncalli Royals will square off against the New Palestine Dragons at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Roncalli is coming into the game hot, having won their last 20 games.

Roncalli is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Indiana's top teams: Cathedral, who was ranked third at the time (Roncalli was ranked first). The Royals walked away with a 2-0 win over the Fighting Irish on Saturday.

Meanwhile, New Palestine made easy work of Park Tudor on Thursday and carried off a 3-0 victory.

While New Palestine won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-13, 26-24.

New Palestine is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. As for Roncalli, their win bumped their record up to 23-3.

Everything went Roncalli's way against New Palestine in their previous matchup back in May of 2023, as Roncalli made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Royals since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
