Baseball Recap: Junction City Gets the Win

Junction City took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Haynesville, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Dragons skirted past the Golden Tornado 7-6. This was a revenge game for the Dragons: when they faced off against the Golden Tornado last Tuesday, they had to take a 7-1 defeat.

Nemo Caldwell was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

Junction City always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .524. They are 3-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The victory made it two in a row for Junction City and bumps their season record up to 5-8. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 8 runs in those games. As for Haynesville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-6-1.

Looking ahead, Junction City will venture away from home to square off against Magnet Cove at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Haynesville, they will welcome Ringgold at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
