Game recap: Sandy Creek High School Football Team tops Dalton

TYRONE, Ga. - Sandy Creek (Tyrone, Ga.) snapped Dalton (Ga.)'s 6-game winning streak, with a 35-13 victory on Saturday.

The Patriots were up 14-7 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown run by Eric Swinney in the second quarter.

Sandy Creek expanded its lead to 21 points entering the fourth quarter. SC scored two times in the third, including once on a Swinney touchdown run.

Swinney and Antonio Williams ran for a bunch of touchdowns for the Catamounts. Swinney scored two touchdowns on the ground and Williams added two as well.

Cole Calfee made a difference for Dalton. The senior quarterback threw one touchdown. His performance brought his touchdown total to seven on the year.



Led by Ronnie Blackmon, the Tyrone school went into the matchup giving up only 8.7 points per game. DHS's 13 points were well below its season average of 27.2 per game.

The defeat comes as a step back for Dalton, which notched a 17-14 victory over Carver in its previous outing.
