Soccer Recap: Solon Comes Up Short

Solon lost against East Buchanan back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Spartans lost 7-0 to the Buccaneers. While losing is never fun, Solon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa soccer rankings (they are ranked 87th, while East Buchanan are ranked 30th).

Solon now has a losing record of 3-4-2. As for East Buchanan, the win keeps they at an undefeated 7-0-1.

Solon wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next contest, a 7-0 defeat against Independence on the 21st. As for East Buchanan, they will square off against South Tama County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
