Western Albemarle is 9-1 against Charlottesville since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Warriors will host the Black Knights at 6:30 p.m.

Goochland hit Western Albemarle with a four-run third inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Warriors fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 5-3. That's two games in a row now that the Warriors have lost by exactly two runs.

Western Albemarle got a good showing from Smith Winslow, who pitched four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.

On the hitting side, Julian Miles made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Williams, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Charlottesville hadn't done well against Louisa County recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Black Knights were the clear victors by an 11-2 margin over the Lions. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Black Knights.

Charlottesville's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-6. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Western Albemarle, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-6.

Western Albemarle took their win against Charlottesville when the teams last played back in April by a conclusive 13-7 score. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Black Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
