Basketball Recap: Jayce Maiden Key Part of a Team Effort in Pirates Win

Belton won the last time they faced Van Horn and things went their way on Sunday too. The Belton Pirates secured a 46-42 W over the Van Horn Falcons. The victory was some much needed relief for the Pirates as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Belton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jayce Maiden, who went 9 of 14 on his way to 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jw Johnson, who posted eight points and six rebounds.

Belton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in six consecutive matchups.
